I have never had a bad meal here. My favorites are: meatballs (hero and platter), shrimp parm (hero), chicken parm (hero & platter), baked ziti with eggplant (delicious!). I think they stopped adding eggplant to the baked ziti but still very good. The red sauce has great flavor and the food in general has great flavor without anything being overpowering. Perfectly seasoned. Portion size is great!! I always have leftovers.

Found this gem on vacation with our kids (ages 6-8). They had a fantastic gluten free pasta, and their pizza and calzone were awesome. This was a lucky find as there wasn't a whole lot around and restaurants can be a bit of a gamble in towns you're not familiar with.

Got lucky. No wait for a table for 2. Garlic bread was good. Sunday sauce special was great. Sausage, meatball, and braised short ribs over rigatoni. Delicious. Chicken parm was excellent. Super tender. It was enough food for 4 people. Will be back.

Food was wonderful and plentiful atmosphere, and there is lovely, especially if you're in the room where the bar is it's much smaller and not quite as boisterous. Service is good and attentive and I would definitely go back

We came here after deciding we've had enough of the diner. The restaurant is literally packed so we have to wait ten minutes. We're shown to a great table in the back. I'm hooked on ordering the minestrone soup. My friend decides no, but I know she'll be wanting some! Ha ha ! It's Friday so I stick with the cheese ravioli my guest goes with the manicotti We also order a nice bottle of montepulciano The wine is just right. The pastas are just delicious. The tomato sauce very, very tasty. I end with an espresso. This may very well become our go to Italian place in town. BRAVO!

I am a long time customer of Cara Mia when they were located in Queens Village. Last night was my first time at the new location. Walked in around 5pm, and the place was busy, both the restaurant and bar area. We were seated promptly since there were a few empty tables. Their waitstaff has been the same for years, and I believe that says something special. They all are great (Melissa, Benny, etc), but tonight, we had Benny and he was awesome. We started with the baked clams (a must) and the meatballs. Both were delicious but they truly make the best baked clams around. The meatballs were lukewarm and our waiter replaced it with a new order that was piping hot. Their stuffed mushrooms and fried calamari are top notch as well. Bread is delicious and continually replenished. For mains, we had the short rib special with homemade fettuccine, shrimp parm (4 large shrimp), pasta with bolognese sauce and lasagna. Their red sauce and bolognese sauce is outstanding. The short rib came on a huge dinosaur bone and was fork tender. Other top dishes are the eggplant parm, and zuppa de pesce. I am not a fan of their vodka sauce, but some people seem to enjoy it. There is street parking as well as a small parking lot in the rear. The only issue with the new location is the acoustics. It is beyond loud. I could barely hold a conversation with the people at my table. We were told they are working on soundproofing. I have dined in and catered numerous times over the past 30 years and always had a pleasant experience. Memories were made there with my family and friends. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad dish there. As you can see above, I tend to order the same dishes because they are that delicious. You can't go wrong with any order. Service is always on point, from the waiters to the busboys. I am glad to see this family run establishment thriving in town.

Came here for my monthly family dinner (all 21 of us) and it didn't disappoint. Being a large group, we opted for a limited menu and everything we got was delicious and fresh. From the baked clam appetizers to the chicken parm, nothing bad could be said. The wait staff was friendly and constantly checking up on us to see how everything was. For such a large group, they were on their A-game in terms of service. The restaurant is super nice and is both great for families and couples. This is a great place and I highly recommend if you're looking for top tier Italian food.
